Cora’s 14th Birthday!

Awe…Yorkshire! There is such beauty in its countryside that Cora requested we drive through to the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales…Skipton. En route we stopped for a short walk at Bingley which hosts the three and five rise locks dating back to 1774. Cora’s mouth gaped open when Ryan said these locks are older then the United States constitution! This amazing construction is a site to behold on this frosty, sunny Yorkshire morn!

After our brisk but beautiful walk, we got in car and drove to Skipton for what we anticipated would be a delicious lunch of pie and mash. However, in the six months we were in the US this restaurant changed owners and was not open. Nevertheless the Lord blessed us with the most delicious lunch at a local pub (Cock and Bottle) where Cora enjoyed bangers (sausages) and mash, I had crispy tantalising GF fish and chips whilst Titus and Ryan ate steak and ale pies. Yum!

After lunch we walked around the Skipton market stalls where our kids purchased winter hats. Needing a bit of a warm up, Cora led us to mouth-watering hot cocoa at a local café…best dark chocolate cocoa I’ve had! 😋

We feel so very thankfully blessed from the Lord to be celebrating her 14th birthday with her; after all, 14 years ago we didn’t think we could even have children and when I was pregnant with her I was on bed rest! It is continually a treasure to witness our Lord grow her into the godly young woman we continue to pray she would be.

This year Cora asked to re-decorate her bedroom and add a small fish tank complete with a Beta (Thai Fighting Fish) and three Panda Cory fish. These have been a welcome addition to our home!

Happy birthday, Cora! We love you! ❤️🥰🥳
